Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return

The Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return is an excellent alternative to the classic 14-16 day trek. Instead of retracing your steps back to Lukla, you will take a scenic helicopter ride from Kala Patthar (5,644m/18,519ft) directly to Kathmandu, saving 2-3 days of descent.

Itinerary

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can explore Thamel, the vibrant tourist hub of Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have a trek briefing session with your guide.

Take a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest. After meeting the trekking crew, begin a 3-4 hour trek to Phakding through lush forests and riverside trails. Enjoy your first glimpse of the Himalayan peaks.

Cross several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, and enter Sagarmatha National Park. A steep climb leads to Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region.

To aid acclimatization, hike to Everest View Hotel, which offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Spend the rest of the day exploring Namche's markets and Sherpa culture.

Trek through pine forests and ridges with magnificent views. Tengboche Monastery, set against Everest and Ama Dablam, is a serene and spiritually uplifting stop.

Pass through picturesque villages and enter alpine landscapes. The trek offers dramatic views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam before reaching Dingboche.

A crucial acclimatization day with a rewarding hike to Nagarjuna Hill. The panoramic mountain views are spectacular, including Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu.

Trek through rocky glacial valleys and pass Thukla Pass, which features memorials for climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Stunning views of Pumori and Nuptse dominate the landscape.

This is the most anticipated day of the trek. Hike to Gorak Shep, then continue to Everest Base Camp, standing at the foot of the world's highest peak. After taking in the surroundings, trek back to Gorak Shep for the night.

Early morning ascent to Kala Patthar for the best sunrise views of Everest and surrounding peaks. Then, board a helicopter for an unforgettable flight over the Khumbu region and back to Kathmandu.

Our team will transfer you to the airport for your international departure, marking the end of this incredible adventure.
