Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, the Mountain Ram Adventures team will warmly greet you with a banner. They will assist with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel in a private vehicle. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some time to relax before joining the rest of the team for a welcome dinner in the evening. The vibrant streets of Thamel provide a lively atmosphere to kickstart your adventure.

After breakfast, you'll embark on a cultural exploration of Kathmandu. Your tour guide will take you to iconic landmarks like the Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath), Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. These sites offer insight into Nepal’s rich art, architecture, and history. After lunch, you will attend a short meeting at the Mountain Ram office, where the guide will introduce you to the trek and provide essential tips. The day concludes with trekking gear preparations, including receiving a duffel bag and assistance in purchasing any necessary equipment.

The adventure kicks off with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, perched at 2,846 meters. After arriving at Lukla, porters will join the group, and the trek toward Phakding begins. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and takes you through Cheplung and Thado Koshi Gaon villages. Crossing suspension bridges, you’ll approach Phakding for an overnight stay while enjoying views of Kongde Ri and Kusum Kanguru.

The trek continues from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, a Sherpa hub located at 3,440 meters. The trail winds through lush rhododendron forests, passing through villages like Toktok and Bengkar. After crossing two suspension bridges, you'll arrive at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, where your trekking permits are registered. The steep ascent to Namche Bazaar

Today is dedicated to acclimatization. You’ll hike to Hotel Everest View, where you’ll be rewarded with your first breathtaking view of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku. If you're feeling up to it, you can continue on to Khumjung Monastery or spend the rest of the day in Namche Bazaar, exploring its cafes, shops, and the Saturday market if you're lucky enough to be there on the weekend.

The trail ascends to Kyangjuma before descending toward Phungi Thenga. From here, you’ll pass through lush forests toward Tengboche, a picturesque village known for its monastery. The surrounding views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Nuptse are stunning. Tengboche Monastery, perched on a ridge, is a spiritual highlight of the day.

The trek from Tengboche to Dingboche involves descending through rhododendron forests and crossing bridges over the Ima Khola. You'll pass the villages of Deboche, Pangboche, and Shomare before reaching the peaceful settlement of Dingboche at 4,410 meters. The trail offers great views of snow-capped peaks, and Dingboche provides a perfect resting point before the higher altitudes.

Another acclimatization day, which includes a hike to Nagarjuna Hill for exceptional views of Lobuche, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other Himalayan giants. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing in Dingboche, exploring the village, and preparing mentally and physically for the remaining trek.

Today, the trail climbs steadily to Dusa and Dughla, where you will pass several memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Mount Everest. The route becomes more rugged as you approach Lobuche, a small village sitting at 4,940 meters. The landscape changes drastically, with barren hills and rocky terrain, marking a transition to more challenging conditions.

The long-awaited day has arrived! From Lobuche, you will trek towards Gorak Shep, then head on to Everest Base Camp (EBC) at 5,364 meters. This challenging section offers views of the Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall. Upon reaching EBC, you'll have time to take in the awe-inspiring surroundings before retracing your steps back to Gorak Shep for the night.

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 meters) gives the best panoramic views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. Afterward, you’ll descend toward Gorak Shep, retracing the route to reach Dughla and then heading down to Pheriche, a village at 4,371 meters. The descent is easier, though still demanding due to the altitude.

The trail from Pheriche leads you back to Namche Bazaar. Along the way, you’ll retrace your steps through Pangboche and Tengboche, passing through alpine forests and picturesque Sherpa villages. This section offers the opportunity to reflect on your journey as you descend toward Namche.

The final stretch of the trek takes you back to Lukla. The route follows the Dudh Koshi River, passing through familiar villages and suspension bridges. The descent is steep in places but offers stunning views and a sense of accomplishment as you arrive back in Lukla, completing the trek.

After an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, you'll have the rest of the day free to relax and shop. The scenic flight provides a chance to catch a final glimpse of the Himalayas. In the evening, you’ll gather for a farewell dinner, where the team will present you with a trek certificate.

On the final day, the team will transfer you to the airport based on your flight departure time. If you have more time, Mountain Ram Adventures offers other exciting trips, so feel free to inquire about additional adventures.
