Itinerary 

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. In the evening, meet your trek leader and fellow trekkers for a trip briefing. This day is reserved for getting settled and acclimatizing to the city’s bustling energy.

Start your day with a guided tour of Kathmandu's ancient landmarks. Visit UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. In the afternoon, finalize your trekking permits, gather equipment, and enjoy some leisure time.

Today, you'll embark on a scenic 6-7 hour drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. This picturesque journey winds through lush hills, charming villages, and beautiful rivers. Once in Pokhara, you’ll have time to explore the lakeside area and relax in the tranquil surroundings of Phewa Lake.

Catch an early flight to Jomsom, a charming town in the Kali Gandaki Valley, known for its unique Tibetan influence. From Jomsom, start your trek to Kagbeni, a village renowned for its ancient architecture and serene beauty. This short trek offers an excellent introduction to the unique landscapes of Upper Mustang.

Leaving Kagbeni behind, head towards Chele. On this day, you’ll gradually gain altitude as you trek through narrow valleys and dry desert terrain. The route offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and traditional villages along the way. You'll end your day in the small village of Chele, nestled amidst the rugged hills.

The trek from Chele to Gelling is a beautiful journey that involves trekking through arid landscapes with stunning vistas. As you ascend, you’ll encounter different Nepali communities and traditional mud-brick houses adorned with intricate Buddhist carvings. Gelling is a peaceful village with a view of the barren desert stretching ahead.

Today, you’ll continue your trek towards Dhakmar, a scenic village famous for its red cliffs. As you trek through narrow paths and cross small suspension bridges, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the Trans-Himalayan ranges. In Dhakmar, enjoy the quiet beauty of the surroundings and the culture of the local people.

Leave Dhakmar behind and trek towards Tsarang, passing the historic Ghar Gompa monastery. Ghar Gompa is an important site for local Buddhists and offers a peaceful atmosphere perfect for reflection. Tsarang is a beautiful village surrounded by fields of barley and has a striking monastery and unique Tibetan-style architecture.

Today's trek will take you to Lo Manthang, the capital of the former Kingdom of Lo and the highlight of the Upper Mustang region. The path offers expansive views of the barren landscape and majestic peaks, leading to the walled city of Lo Manthang. Once inside, explore its ancient streets, traditional homes, and beautiful monasteries.

Spend the day exploring the hidden gems of Lo Manthang, including the mysterious Chhoser Cave, which is home to thousands of man-made caves. These caves, used for meditation and burial practices, hold a fascinating history. Visit Namgyal Monastery, one of the oldest and most revered spiritual centers in the region.

Lo Manthang is filled with unique monasteries and cultural treasures. Visit the Thupchen Gompa and Nyuphu Monastery. Explore the intricately carved structures and ancient Buddhist art that make Lo Manthang a must-visit for culture lovers. You will also have time to meet the locals and enjoy the relaxed pace of life in this ancient city.

Depart Lo Manthang and trek towards Ghami. This day’s trail takes you through arid desert landscapes, with high cliffs and deep ravines. The region’s rich history is visible in the ancient monasteries and prayer wheels that line your path. Ghami is a quiet village with incredible mountain views.

Trek from Ghami to Samar, passing the Chumsi Cave Monastery along the way. The monastery is known for its serene atmosphere and striking murals. Once in Samar, enjoy a peaceful evening and soak in the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Samar is a great place to interact with locals and learn about the area's cultural heritage.

Today, you’ll descend towards Kagbeni. The trail is steep in places but offers stunning views of the valley and surrounding peaks. Once in Kagbeni, reflect on your trek, visit the local monasteries, and enjoy the Tibetan-influenced lifestyle.

Retrace your steps back to Jomsom. This relatively short trek allows you to savor the last moments of Upper Mustang's natural beauty. You’ll be back in Jomsom by afternoon, where you can enjoy some well-earned rest.

Take a scenic flight back to Pokhara. The aerial views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks are breathtaking. Once in Pokhara, enjoy a free day to relax by the lakeside, take a boat ride on Phewa Lake, or explore the vibrant streets and cafes.

Catch a bus from Pokhara back to Kathmandu. The scenic drive offers views of terraced fields, villages, and rivers. Once in Kathmandu, take some time to shop for souvenirs or simply relax and enjoy the city's energy.

On the final day of your trip, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. Take a moment to reflect on the unforgettable experiences and memories you’ve made during this extraordinary journey.
